At its Jan. 9 meeting the Rock Spring Civic Association Executive Board accepted, with great reluctance, Paul Michl's resignation from the Ex. Bd for health reasons and expressed its deep appreciation for all of the many contributions Paul has made to RSCA over the years. In addition to serving on the Ex. Bd., Paul is both a past President and Vice President of our civic association and has played a key role in many of its endeavors, including chairing the citizens committee that sought the Old Dominion Dr. Pedestrian Improvement project, which is now in the design stage. We on the Board will deeply miss Paul's valuable inputs to the Board's work and will continue to cherish his friendship.
Pursuant to the RSCA By-Laws, the Ex. Bd. has elected Judy Wheat to fill the interim vacancy created by Paul's resignation. She will serve until the next Ex. Bd. elections, which will take place at the RSCA Annual meeting this fall. As a former member of the Ex. Bd. herself, widow of our former President Jack Sawicki, and resident of Old Dominion Dr., Judy is very familiar with the Civic Association's work and will be especially valuable in providing inputs to the County on the Old Dom. Dr. sidewalks project.
