Arlington Public Schools has scheduled a meeting on Thur, September 13, 2012, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Williamsburg Middle School Library to discuss the Proposed New Elementary School to be built on the WMS campus.
As you may know, the school board has approved construction of this new school for about six hundred students to open in September 2015. While it obviously will impact the surrounding neighborhoods both during and after construction, APS says that project planning is just beginning, the architect has only just been selected, and no design decisions have yet been made. Thus any activity observed on site to date is limited to surveying.
The meeting is intended to hear neighborhood concerns and explain how best to communicate with APS during the design phase. Presentations will cover the space program, the schedule, and the design and construction process. It is open to the public, and everyone is invited to attend.
If you are unable to attend the meeting or have any questions, please contact APS Director of Design and Construction John C. Chadwick, AIA, RIBA, either by phone at 703.228.6609 or via email at email@example.com.
