Due to utility work related to their construction project (see Community Projects), Marymount University has notified the neighborhood that traffic flow on Yorktown Blvd. is very likely to be heavily congested for at least the next 2-3 weeks. The work involves pouring concrete, hauling off dirt spoils and the installation of new sewer and water lines mandated by the County. Given the weather conditions, RSCA suspects the traffic congestion potentially could last even longer. Where possible, residents of Rock Spring may therefore wish to consider re-routing themselves to avoid the intersections at 26th Street and both N. Glebe Road and Old Dominion Drive – for example, by using Military Rd., Harrison Street, or some other N-S route.
